Hey Orion, how do I install a FiveM resource?
From “Hey Orion” to an answer, in four steps
- 1
You say "Hey Orion"
Orion waits quietly. The wake phrase is detected on Orion’s own server, and anything that isn’t addressed to it is thrown away on the spot.
- 2
Orion hears the request
Only what you say after the wake phrase is transcribed — by a speech model suited to your language, including a Nigerian-languages engine for Pidgin, Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa.
- 3
Orion thinks
It checks your server’s own rules and guides, searches the web for anything current, and keeps the thread of the conversation.
- 4
Orion answers out loud
In the language you spoke, in the voice and personality your admins chose. Keep talking — no need to repeat the wake phrase while the conversation is going.
Talk over Orion and it stops to listen. Several people can talk to it in turn — it keeps track of who asked what, and you can reply right after it speaks without repeating the wake phrase.
Speaks your language. Says how well.
Each member can talk in their own language and Orion answers in kind. Nigerian Pidgin is a first-class language here, not an afterthought — mixed English-and-Pidgin included.
Live translation mode lets two people who don’t share a language talk through Orion, with captions in the chat.
“Abeg wetin be this error?”
“Make I check am. Wetin the error dey talk?”

A channel that always has someone home
Give Orion a permanent channel and it stays — even when the room empties out. It comes back after restarts and dropped connections, and it never fights an admin who disconnects it.
Prefer it on demand? Use auto-join for a single channel, or let members invite Orion into whichever room they’re in with one button.

Questions
Does Orion record our voice channel?
No. Raw audio is never stored. Orion only processes voice from members who allow it, checks for the wake phrase on its own server, and sends nothing to AI providers until someone says “Hey Orion”. Transcripts are off unless a server admin explicitly turns them on.
Can Orion stay in a channel when everyone leaves?
Yes — that’s permanent mode. Assign a channel in the dashboard and Orion stays connected, reconnects after restarts or network drops, and only leaves when an admin disconnects it or changes the mode.
How good is the Nigerian Pidgin support?
Orion understands and writes natural Pidgin, and can speak it with native Nigerian voices through the 9jaLingo provider. Speech recognition for Pidgin is still being evaluated with real speakers, so each language in the dashboard shows its honest tested status.
Do we have to type commands?
No. Normal conversation is by voice. Buttons and /orion commands exist for inviting Orion, consent and controls.
What does it cost?
Orion has no subscription. Running it uses paid AI services, so each server has a monthly budget set by its admins, within limits set by the Orion operator. Orion stops before going over.
Can Orion change our server?
Only if admins enable it. Orion checks the requester’s real Discord permissions and asks them to press a Confirm button before creating or renaming anything. Saying “I’m an admin” changes nothing.
